Communications in the Cumberlands: How does the U.C. stack up?

Too often in the past, communities have seen little need for broadband technology in the day-to-day activities of businesses and lives. However, broadband technology allows for innovation and opportunities. Broadband strips away barriers that have prevented growth in the past. County leaders throughout the Upper Cumberland have begun to recognize this and are currently working to change the technological landscape of the area.

Putnam’s TUTCO announces addition of new jobs

TUTCO plans to add a significant number of new jobs at its Cookeville manufacturing facility after closing down operations at an Illinois plant. The company recently notified approximately 59 employees of the plant closure in Elmhurst, Ill. Company representatives are still unsure how many new jobs will be created locally, but production orders have already been shifted to the Cookeville facility and employees there are learning the new tasks.more

Upper Cumberland education gets stimulus boost
