The venue, half modern cool and half retro charming

Cookeville – Welcome to the 1930’s.

That is an introduction to 1854 Cocktail Bar and Lounge (1854) in Cookeville. It’s a speakeasy, a bar shrouded in secrecy, and an experience like none other in Cookeville.

Since opening its doors in September, 1854 has added flair and a sense of elegance, where you can partake in “sophisticated libations on Cookeville’s historic square”, to the city’s restaurant/bar scene.

“1854 Cocktail Bar & Lounge believes in more than just serving great cocktails in an elegantly vintage atmosphere,” according to 1854. “We strive to offer a unique experience filled with ambiance, drink and food for each guest who enters our door.”

Drinks like the Mr. Lincoln, a bourbon-infused drink with Angostura bitters and an “essence of rose,” flow atop a sculpted bar. Think of an old-fashioned “only bitter.” Or perhaps you could order the 1854, a Rum drink with Brandy and fruit juices.

“It has our name for a reason,” proclaims the 1854 menu.

The venue, half modern cool and half retro charming, prioritizes “local, fresh and sustainably sourced ingredients” for its menu.

The speakeasy recommends reservations. The space is small (46 seats), but the ambiance is large with classic cocktails, marble countertops and a sculpted bar. There are also private, velvet seating areas if revelers look to escape the crowd.

1854 – The speakeasy offers a variety of specialty drinks.

1854 is available for event bookings.

“1854’s space is intimate, elegant and all-inclusive when you book for your event,” says 1854. “Event capacity is 50 guests.”
