West Towne Plaza’s occupancy has grown substantially over the past year

White County will soon have another premier option when it comes to buying shoes.

Shoe Sensation (SS) is targeting a July opening in the newly refurbished West Towne Plaza Shopping Center (WTP) at 810 roosevelt Drive in Sparta, according to sources. The property has undergone a “massive transformation” since Highland Capital acquired it last year.

Wyatt Woeltje, owner of WTP, told the Upper Cumberland Business Journal (UCBJ) the WTP property has gone from 56% to over 96% occupancy.

“We are very thrilled to be such a massive part of restoring a large landmark in the city and hope the city is pleased with what we’ve been able to do thus far,” he said.

Headquartered in Jeffersonville, Indiana, SS has over 230 stores in 20 states. It has an ongoing focus on opening stores in small and medium-sized towns across the heartland of America.

“… We provide small-town customer service matched with our large-scale selection and years of expertise. We believe in making every customer feel right at home,” according to Shoe Sensation. “Our small-town hospitality extends to the communities where we live and work. We partner with local charities and participate actively in local events because we think it’s important to help make our communities the best they can be.”
