PUTNAM COUNTY – Upperman High School recognizes its first student, Nic Herrick, for becoming an Adobe Certified Professional in Digital Video using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Herrick is a senior at Upperman and enrolled in the new Audio/Visual Production and Broadcasting led by instructor Susie Dobbs. This class began in August 2021 and is a part of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.

“I have always been into videography,” said Herrick. “I enjoy the editing process. I want to go as far as I can in this industry.”

This certification validates the knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, an industry-leading video editing software for film, TV and the web.  The exam is 50-minutes and integrated with the Premiere Pro application, allowing students an authentic assessment of job-ready skills.

“The Adobe Certified Professional exam in digital video is one that professionals in this industry have,” said Dobbs. “This is a big deal for our school as Nic is our first student to be certified. It is an even bigger deal for Nic as he is one step ahead of entering the industry. We are super proud of him and know he will do amazing things.”
