Criminal is using the name of an actual employee
Cookeville – The Cookeville Police Department received several reports from citizens who received phone calls from a scammer claiming to be an officer. The criminal is using the name of an actual employee of the department claiming to be with the warrants division and attempting to scam the victim out of money.
Please be aware that:
1. The police department will never call you and demand money.
2. They will never call you and threaten to arrest you if you refuse to pay money.
