Warren County – McNeilus Steel, Inc., a family-owned, full-line steel service center, will invest $23.4 million to expand its presence in Tennessee by locating new operations in Morrison.

The expansion will create 55 new jobs at the new manufacturing and distribution facility will be on West Maple Street.

“McNeilus has been delivering excellence and dependability along with the finest steel products in the country for more than 75 years,” said Zachary Ernst, general manager, McNeilus Steel, Inc.  “We are excited to expand our operations to Middle Tennessee, specifically Warren County, which has been greatly supportive on this project. We are thrilled to join the community as an employer that values the contribution of each individual and demonstrates concern for health, safety and well-being of our employees and their families.”

The Morrison site will be McNeilus’ second Tennessee plant and will provide steel distribution services not currently offered by the company’s operations in Morristown. Upon completion of the facility, McNeilus will hire warehousing, sales, human resources, information technology, maintenance and management positions.

“I am proud to welcome McNeilus to Morrison. This significant investment by the company will bring many quality jobs to our area that will benefit residents and the local economy. I congratulate McNeilus on this announcement and wish the company continued success here in Warren County,” said Rep. Paul Sherrell.

The company houses more than 5,000 unique ferrous and nonferrous products, which are manufactured and shipped from McNeilus’ operations across Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Tennessee.
