COOKEVILLE – Rib City, a family-owned national barbecue chain, has officially relocated its Cookeville location to 1431 Interstate Drive.
The Fort Myers, Florida-based franchise opened six years ago on West Jackson Street, the first Rib City location in the state of Tennessee.
The new custom-built 4,500-square-foot facility includes more space in the dining and kitchen areas to accommodate the restaurant’s growing customer base and quick-service concept that includes a menu of barbecued meats, specialized sauces and complementary side dishes like baked beans and coleslaw.
The UCBJ first broke the news of the new Rib City store in April 2015. Completion was initially scheduled for last summer. The restaurant debuted the Interstate Drive locale in late January.
“We are thankful for the great success we have experienced in Cookeville since opening in spring 2010,” franchise owner Steve Westphal said in a release. “At this new location off Interstate Drive, we have been able to create a customized environment that is family friendly, allows for large private parties and includes a covered outdoor patio area with a large stone fireplace.”
The previous location, 780 W. Jackson St., was an existing facility (Jackson Street Grill) that had been remodeled. Rib City first opened there in March 2010.
The new location’s hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday. The phone number is (931) 372-7100. Rib City’s complete menu is available online at www.ribcity.com.
