Putnam County June Construction Slows From 2025 Pace

Building permits generate more than $25,000 in department fees

County Issues 32 Permits Totaling $6.4 Million In June

(UCBJ) – Putnam County issued 32 construction permits totaling $6.4 million in June, according to Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter. The total included 12 permits for new single-family homes.

By comparison, June 2025 saw 43 permits totaling $9.9 million, including 13 permits for new single-family homes.

“June permits generated $25,083 in fees which operates the Building Codes Department,” Porter said. “Remember these are numbers for Putnam County that do not include any of the four cities.”

Through the first six months of 2026, Putnam County has issued 198 permits totaling more than $49.2 million in construction value. During the same period in 2025, the county issued 222 permits worth approximately $56.2 million.
