Local Provider Traces Roots to 1951 Rural Telephone Cooperative
(UCBJ) – DTC Communications is marking 75 years of service to DeKalb County, according to a release by the Smithville-DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber). The Chamber honored the company with a “75-Year Milestone Award.”
The award highlights the company’s long-standing role in connecting families and businesses across the region through generations of telecommunications service and ongoing infrastructure investment, according to the company.
“Since 1951, DTC has connected generations of families and businesses through reliable communication services and a commitment to innovation,” according to the Chamber.
Since its founding, DTC Communications has evolved into a full-service broadband and fiber internet provider.
“From its beginnings as a rural telephone cooperative to becoming a leader in fiber internet and telecommunications, DTC has played a vital role in the growth and success of our region,” according to the Chamber.
What makes for a lasting legacy? Continued commitment to innovation and community development. Those factors have allowed DTC a decades-long impact on local economic progress.
“Thank you, DTC Communications, for 75 years of dedication, investment, and service to the people of DeKalb County and surrounding communities. We congratulate your leadership, employees, and members on this outstanding achievement and wish you continued success for many years to come,” according to the Chamber.
