Offerings include yoga, strength training, spin, boot camp, club cardio and S.H.R.E.D.

Cookeville – The City of Cookeville Leisure Services is hosting a free fitness event on Jan. 21. The event is called Fit Frenzy, and it is an opportunity to sample different fitness classes at Cane Creek Recreation Center. The group fitness classes will start every half hour from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and focus on an upbeat, beginner-friendly atmosphere.

Door prizes will be in each class.

“Fit Frenzy is one of my favorite events of the year! It allows everyone to come in and check us out, try something new, and with no commitment. Most of the time people don’t realize what a massive impact plugging into a fitness class can have on their life,” Jen Webb, Leisure Services special programs coordinator, said.

Offerings include yoga, strength training, spin, boot camp, club cardio and S.H.R.E.D.

Fitness classes are offered daily at Cane Creek Recreation Center, 180 CC Camp Road, and participants may drop in any time for $3 per class unless otherwise posted. See the monthly schedule at www.cookeville-tn.gov/ls.

Fit Cards are available for $30 (11 classes for the price of 10). During Fit Frenzy, buy-one-get-one-half-price rate of 22-classes for $45.

“It is is not only good for their physical health, but the social aspect can make a huge difference for people mentally. We see so many of our participants not only achieving health goals and milestones but meeting and making new friends. It’s why I am so passionate about our program,” Webb said.

“For our regular attendees, it’s an opportunity to try something different,” said Webb.
