Cumberland County earns prestigious AARC Seal of Approval

CROSSVILLE – Crossville and Cumberland County has again earned the prestigious 2019 Seal of Approval from the American Association of Retirement Communities (AARC) during their annual conference in Daytona Beach, Florida.

AARC is the nation’s leading organization on educating local governments and private communities on retiree attraction. The AARC Seal of Approval is presented annually to recipients that demonstrate a cutting-edge commitment to making their community a top-notch destination through lifestyle programming, amenity development, communication programs and education.

The AARC’s Seal of Approval program was established in 1994. Award-winners are evaluated by a national panel of retirement destination experts on a variety of criteria, including healthcare, retiree-appropriate housing, lifestyle amenities, adult education, recreational and cultural opportunities, and governmental and private support of retiree-focused programs. Crossville-Cumberland County has been a partnering community with the Retire Tennessee program since the program’s inception. The program under direction of Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, partners with 22 communities across our great State of Tennessee to recruit energetic, affluent, and quality retirees to our communities.
