UPPER CUMBERLAND – Drawing blood is one of those things that you want done right. A well-trained and skilled phlebotomist will know how to get it done quickly, safely and with minimal discomfort. Even more importantly, a properly conducted blood test is often critical for a patient diagnosis. Phlebotomy jobs are expected to grow by 25% by 2026.
Volunteer State Community College is offering a non-credit phlebotomy course in March. Classes will be online, but labs will be held on the Gallatin, Springfield and Livingston campuses. The course is designed to prepare students for the NHA (National Healthcareer Association) certification exam. Call 615-230-3338 for more information or visit www.volstate.edu/healthconed.
