COOKEVILLE – Upper Cumberland residents looking to donate to Gatlinburg fire victims can drop off items at the Putnam County Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) office.
Two boxes are available at 580 S. Jefferson Ave. for non-perishable food, pet supplies, children’s entertainment, clothes and more, Harrison Young, UCHRA outreach coordinator, said. A more extensive list of needed items is below. Donations will be sent to Knoxville Friday evening and will be taken to fitting locations recommended by the Knoxville Sentinel.
To make a monetary $10 donation, text “REDCROSS” to 90999; the American Red Cross will add a charge to your next phone bill.
The death toll from the fires now stands at seven. Wildfire has damaged or destroyed more than 700 homes and businesses across Sevier County this week.
