UC to host three ‘Veterans Advantage: Cycle Across Tennessee’ events

Cookeville Job Fair on April 13 with over 500 jobs available

UPPER CUMBERLAND – The Upper Cumberland American Job Center will host three events as part of the “Veterans Advantage: Cycle Across Tennessee,” a statewide bicycle ride to bring awareness to the benefits of hiring a veteran and to highlight the services available to veterans at the state’s American Job Centers (AJC).

Meet and greets will be held with the cyclist on Tuesday, April 12 in Carthage at the AJC, located at 120 Pauline Gore Way, with riders scheduled to arrive around 12 p.m. and on Thursday, April 14 in Crossville at the AJC office, 60 Ridley St.

A Job Fair will be held from 12 – 3 p.m., along with the meet and greet, in Cookeville on Wednesday, April 13 at the AJC office, 1000 England Drive. Employers are looking to fill over 500 jobs during the event.

A number of employers, including Silver Angels, Pacesetters, TT Floor Care, Academy Sports, Candlewood Suites, Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Home Instead, Bledsoe County Correctional Complex, New Horizons Life Skills, AutoZone and the State of Tennessee will be on hand prepared to conduct interviews and make hiring decisions on site.

Job seekers should come prepared with resumes and be dressed to impress. Veterans are encouraged to attend. Those with questions or needing assistance with resumes or interview skills should call 931-520-6020.
