Program Targets Reshoring, Supply Chains and Skilled Labor Shortages
(UCBJ) – The U.S. Small Business Administration has launched a new grant initiative that could award up to $50 million to organizations supporting small manufacturers through workforce training and technical assistance.
The Manufacturing in America Empower to Grow (E2G) Grant Initiative will fund as many as 10 organizations that provide regional support, hands-on training and consulting to small manufacturers in key industrial sectors.
“America’s reindustrialization is accelerating under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump, and the SBA is proud to stand with the small manufacturers driving that resurgence,” said SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler. “As I travel the country and meet with these builders, innovators, and job creators, I’ve seen firsthand the essential role they play in restoring American industrial strength.”
Eligible industries include aerospace, shipbuilding, rail equipment, mining, industrial machinery, construction equipment, metal fabrication, electrical equipment, food processing, medical manufacturing, advanced manufacturing and robotics.
Applicants must be for-profit or nonprofit entities, including trade groups and educational institutions, with at least three years of operating history and proven manufacturing training experience. Applications are due electronically via Grants.gov by June 15 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
The SBA says the effort is aimed at strengthening domestic supply chains, expanding workforce development and supporting reshoring initiatives for U.S. manufacturers.
