Commercial Project Pushes Monthly Construction Value Above Prior Year Levels
(UCBJ) – Putnam County construction held steady in May, according to Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter.
“May had 31 permits for $8.0 million in construction, with 15 of those being for new single-family homes,” according to Porter.
There was also one commercial permit issued during the month, valued at $1.9 million.
“In comparison, May 2025 had 30 permits for $5.9 million, with 13 of those being new single-family homes,” according to Porter.
May permits generated $36,768 in fees, which support the Building Codes Department’s operations. These figures reflect activity in Putnam County only and do not include permits issued within the county’s four incorporated cities.
