Peacock Tea Room Blends Early 1900s Tradition With a Charitable Mission
(UCBJ) – Peacock Tea Room (PTR) will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, July 22, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at 1310 Walter Reed Road in Cookeville. The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) will host the event.
“Inspired by the social gatherings of the early 1900s, Peacock Tea Room invites guests to step away from the hustle of everyday life and into the timeless tradition of afternoon tea. Think dressing up, slowing down, and savoring a beautiful afternoon of good food and great company,” according to the Chamber.
PTR will feature:
- Flavored teas
- Homemade scones
- Finger sandwiches
- Delicate pastries
- Other refreshments
Guests will be able to enjoy outdoor seating on the veranda or pool patio “when weather permits,” according to the Chamber. Seating is intentionally limited to create an intimate atmosphere, and tickets are $35 per person.
According to the Chamber, PTR’s mission extends beyond serving tea, with 85% of every ticket sold benefiting Open Heart Rescue and Shriners Children’s Hospital.
“It is an afternoon of indulgence that truly gives back. Come celebrate this beautiful new addition and welcome Peacock Tea Room to Cookeville,” according to the Chamber.
