Event Coincides With America’s 250th Anniversary Celebration

(UCBJ) – The Livingston-Overton County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, July 17, to recognize the Leadership Overton Class of 2026 and its Flags Over Overton project. The class is placing flags throughout the community as part of the initiative.

The ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Livingston Housing Authority.

“This moment couldn’t feel more fitting, arriving as the nation marks America’s 250th anniversary,” according to the Chamber. “Join us in honoring the dedication behind this project and the class members who brought it to life.”

This follows the recent ceremonial flag-raising at the Joe L. Evins Community Center that celebrated the official launch of the project.

“ … Congratulations to the Class of 2026 on a project that will fly proudly over Overton County for years to come,” according to the Chamber.

Community members are invited.
