“Keeping all body parts safe is our top priority” – Get Axed

On May 4, the battle begins, if you consider a test of skill in axe throwing and drinking beer a battle.

Please, let’s not let that become a thing (the battle part, it’s all in fun). But before we can begin the “battle,” Get Axed Cookeville (GAC) is holding a ribbon cutting May 2. GAC at 768 S Jefferson Ave. in Cookeville will feature 9 throwing lanes (think bowling with axes) with “Various options” and 9 large screen TVs so you can keep up with ESPN 8 The Ocho as you compete.

Oh yes, there will be beer (a large selection, actually) and ciders, soft drinks and food from which to choose.

“We want you to be as comfortable as possible, the only thing we ask is no open toed shoes – keeping all body parts safe is our top priority,” according to the company. “Other than that, come as you wish. Dress as a lumberjack or come in a suit, whatever you think will help you throw the most bullseyes and have the most fun!”

The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) will be on hand for the opening.

“Come join the excitement as we celebrate the grand opening of Get Axed Cookeville,” said the Chamber. “Be part of the ribbon cutting ceremony as we eagerly await the official launch on May 4. Don’t miss out on the chance to experience Cookeville’s newest hotspot firsthand!”

The ribbon cutting will be May 2 at 2 p.m. with the official grand opening set for May 4 and May 5. For more information visit HERE or email getaxedcookeville2gmail.com.
