Advance Registration Required By July 7
(UCBJ) – On Thursday, July 9, from 4 to 6 p.m., The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Upper Cumberlands is hosting a legal name change clinic at its Cookeville office, 9 S. Jefferson Ave., Suite 102.
According to a release, the clinic will provide free assistance from attorneys who can guide attendees through the legal name change process.
“A legal name change is a court process that officially updates a person’s name on government records, identification and legal documents,” according to the release. “Having the correct legal name is essential for accessing employment, housing, health care and other vital services.”
The clinic is open to those needing help with legal process, and attorneys will be available at no cost. Registration is required by Tuesday, July 7.
