Gordonsville – International Mining company Nyrstar, located at 120 Zinc Circle in Gordonsville has announced it will be laying off up to 300 employees starting this fall, according to reports.
The layoff will be temporary, according to the WARN notice filed with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development by Nyrstar Tennessee Mines – Gordonsville, LLC. The WARN notice notified the agency of a temporary layoff and the exact duration is currently unknown.

With a market leading position in zinc and lead, Nyrstar has mining, smelting and other operations located in Europe, the United States and Australia and employs approximately 4,000 people.
