COOKEVILLE – Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (ECD) Upper Cumberland Regional Director Cody Huddleston has announced his return to the private sector June 13, serving as vice president of business development for Veloture Development Group.

Huddleston joined ECD in July 2012. Since then, he has been instrumental in the recruitment and expansion of businesses resulting in over 4,000 new jobs and $1 billion in capital investment.

“Cody Huddleston taught me a lot about economic development and the way to do our best job for our companies and our communities,” said the new ECD Upper Cumberland Regional Director Angela Regitko. “Cody’s ability to work well with companies and communities has helped bring a lot of jobs to the state and improve the quality of life for many people.”

Huddleston plans to take the skills he has mastered and use them to help companies that need help for financing, real estate and new construction and communities that may be looking to partner to purchase land and look for new commercial or industrial development.

Veloture Development Group, LLC, headquartered in Shelbyville, has a combined 20 years’ experience in the real estate, construction and finance sectors.

According to Huddleston, Veloture exists to serve an unmet need in the real estate market – to be a single point of contact that can consult and steer a client through all phases of a successful development project.

Huddleston is a Cookeville native and member of Stephens Street Baptist Church. He is a member of the Tennessee Economic Development Council and served on the TVA Young Talent Cabinet.

Prior to ECD, he was an account executive for Comdata Corporation, where he managed and grew more than 2,500 existing accounts valued at $2.2 million annually.

Huddleston holds a BBA in business management from Tennessee Tech University and an MBA from Norwich University. He lives in Cookeville with his two children, Oliver and Eliza.

For more information, Huddleston can be reached at 931-261-5459 or by email, cody@veloture.com.
