Event Includes Divisions For Adults, Veterans and Children
(UCBJ) – On Friday evening, runners and walkers in the Upper Cumberland will have an opportunity to celebrate Independence Day while supporting a local nonprofit during the Freedom 5K (F5K) in Cookeville. The event takes place at The Exceptional Bean at 55 N. Walnut Ave and will feature a family-friendly atmosphere and a downtown Cookeville racecourse.
The F5K, sponsored by Better Cookeville, will benefit The Exceptional Bean and begin at 8 p.m.
According to Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter (Porter), it gives residents the chance to celebrate the holiday while supporting a local organization that serves the community.
Participants can compete in three divisions, including:
- General (ages 13 and older) for $50
- Veterans (active-duty, served or retired military) for $40
- Kids Fun Run (ages 12 and younger) for $35
All registered participants will receive a race shirt, and finishers will receive medals. Registration is available at runsignup.com/Race/TN/Cookeville/RedWhiteandBoom5k.
