COOKEVILLE – The Cookeville Mayor is no longer required to sit on the Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) Board of Trustees after a vote Thursday night to make the board’s bylaws consistent with the Cookeville city charter.

Section 3.3.3 of the Board’s by-laws spell out the composition of members on the board. The board voted to add the phrase “or the Mayor’s designee from the city council, who” to the language. It now reads, “One (1) Trustee shall be the person holding the office of Mayor of the City of Cookeville, Tennessee, or the Mayor’s designee from the city council, who shall serve as Trustee as long as he or she holds the office of Mayor.”

The change to the wording was requested by new board member Danny Rader, whose firm also serves as council for the city of Cookeville.
