City Manager to execute purchase/sale agreement to Hollingsworth Company

Cookeville – The Cookeville City Council approved the purchase of two lots in the Highlands Business Park to Hollingsworth Company Thursday evening. The two lots are designated as a portion of lot A1 and lot G.

According to Cookeville Community Development Director Jon Ward, the lots consist of 15.59 and 18.76 acres, respectively. The purchase price for lot A1 is $545,650 while lot G is $600,320.

“Hollingsworth company is an industrial developer that plans to construct two industrial facilities,” said Ward. “Renderings provided by the company consist of a 152,160 square foot facility on lot A1 and a 227,760 square foot facility on lot g. Both of these have expansion potential.”

The action passed unanimously following a motion to approve by Vice Mayor Luke Eldridge. Since Highlands Business Park is jointly owned between the city of Cookeville and Putnam County, the action must now be passed by the County Commission before any movement can be made on the project.
