Nike Coach of the Year Clinics feature champion college football coaches as speakers and draws thousands of college and high school coaches of elite athletes

Cookeville – Cookeville’s Kevin Christopher, an entrepreneur, attorney and agent, will cover “top strategies for coaches leading athletes in the new NIL era” at Atlanta Feb. 10 and in Birmingham Feb. 18. The Nike Coach of the Year Clinics feature champion college football coaches as speakers and draws thousands of college and high school coaches of elite athletes to learn coaching and management practices.

Christopher will be speaking at the 2023 Nike Coach of the Year Clinics in Atlanta and Birmingham. On Feb. 10 and 18, respectively, Christopher will be discussing the increasingly complex issue of managing athletes in the rapidly evolving NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) era.

Kevin Christopher is a leading voice in intellectual property and influencer strategies. He has helped world champion athletes maximize personal brands, business opportunities and philanthropic missions and has represented student-athletes challenging athletic organization and state laws.

He says he uniquely understands the challenges that coaches face in the NIL era and is passionate about empowering coaches to get the most out of their athletes and to manage NIL in ways that benefit their teams, institutions and players.

“I advise coaches and teams to check your brightside, meaning NIL isn’t going anywhere, but it can have many positive impacts on your team and program if you understand its opportunities and know-how to manage them,” said Christopher.

Nike’s Coach of the Year Clinics are annual, regional events bringing together the best and brightest minds in the sports world. This year’s headliners at Atlanta and Birmingham include coaches Josh Heupel from Tennessee, John Day from Ohio State, Mel Tucker form Michigan State, Dabo Swinney from Clemson and many others.

The events draw thousands of coaches and elite players to learn best practices in coaching organizational management, and training. Christopher will speak about the importance of developing effective yet flexible coaching strategies in response to the changing NIL landscape.

His message will offer coaches the opportunity to gain greater insight into how to better support their athletes and teams. The 2023 Nike Coach of the Year Clinic in Atlanta takes place Feb. 9 – 11, and the Birmingham event is scheduled for Feb. 16 – 18.
