Wildwood Resort & Marina crosses four-year milestone 

GRANVILLE – Wildwood Resort & Marina has entered its fifth season and is full steam ahead. The sixteen-acre resort on Cordell Hull Lake continues to grow and positively impact not only guests and boaters but also the communities of Jackson and Smith County as well. They have recently commissioned a community impact report that shares light on the many facets of how this small enterprise is changing its community.  

Visitors, Spending & Taxes


Since its inception guests have spent over $4M at Wildwood which provided Jackson County 69% of its total hotel/motel tax in 2021. There are over 133,000 visitors a year that spend time on the VisitWildwood.comwebsite and the resort hosts more than 60 annual group events each year.  

Employment & Wages 

Wildwood has a staff of over 40 full and part-time employees with an annual payroll of $760K with a 40% increase in average hourly wages since 2018. There have also been nine employees enrolled in institutions of higher education who have received unrestricted educational scholarships.  


Environmental Impact


Each spring Wildwood hosts River Clean-up days and there have been 9,800 pounds of trash removed from Cordell Hull Lake representing more than 600 hours of volunteer time. The solar array on the property has saved 44,808 pounds of CO2 emissions and over 100 new trees have been planted on the property since 2018. 

The Holston Cafe’ at Wildwood is known for its homemade soft-serve ice cream. There have been over 8,000 treats enjoyed, which means 8,000+ smiling faces. 

Wildwood Resort & Marina is a boutique resort and marina with 130 boat slips and 37 unique lodging accommodations. The resort features the Lakeside Restaurant and Holston Cafe’ and offers tri-toon, kayak, canoe, and stand-up paddleboard rentals.
