Waitr arrives in Cookeville

New food delivery service offers more affordable and convenient choice

COOKEVILLE – Spurred on by rapid success across the South, a popular food delivery service is coming to Cookeville, promising a new, better choice for customers and restaurant partners alike. Waitr is expanding its footprint in Tennessee, debuting a new option for on-demand food delivery straight to your door from some of your favorite Cookeville restaurants.

The delivery service begins this week with the official launch set for Thursday, June 20. Waitr’s $5 flat fee on all orders, regardless of its size or the customer’s distance from the restaurant, makes the app stand out among its competitors.

Waitr has already proven to be successful in more than 250 cities throughout Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, Indiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kansas, Nebraska, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Texas.

Waitr expects to hire 100 people in Cookeville. It will kick off its debut in the area with special free delivery – anytime you use the app through June 30, you can get your food delivered free by using the promo code “COOKEVILLE” at checkout.

“There are many reasons why Waitr is a leader in on-demand food ordering and delivery for both individual customers and businesses,” said Whitney Savoie, market development director for Waitr. “We’re at the forefront of the industry from a technology standpoint. Our customers enjoy the ability to monitor the status of their deliveries and the full-color photographs of every menu item offered by our partners allow them to order with confidence.”

Cookeville-area restaurants already partnering with Waitr include Caribbean Cafe & Restaurant, India Palace, Papa John’s Pizza, San Antonio Taco Company, Lazy Cow Creamery, Hooligans Half Irish Pub, Pharaoh’s Grill, The Salad Station, Buffalo Wild Wings, Casa Grande, The Whistle Stop Pizzeria & More, Shaker’s Pizza, T-Mart, El Tapatio, Bar On The Green, El Magueyal Mexican Restaurant, Bubba Gandy Seafood Cajun Market, and Pelican SnoBalls.

To celebrate its Cookeville debut, Waitr will be hosting a launch party at San Antonio Taco Company, 1070 N. Washington Ave. on Thursday, June 20 at 5 p.m. Waitr is encouraging everyone to come out and be part of the city’s launch and meet the local team. Attendees at the free party can expect tasty appetizers, cold drinks and cool “swag” items to take home with them.
