Region is still at 3.6% unemployment for November

Cookeville – Across the state of TN, the unemployment rate is trending in right direction. Jobless claims were down in November. However, despite some movement, the Upper Cumberland regions’ jobless numbers remained at 3.6%.

According to the TN Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Cannon County dropped from 3% in October to 2.8% in November. Clay County stayed at 4.4% while Cumberland County sits at 4.3%.

DeKalb, Fentress and Warren counties all landed at a 3.8%. Warren’s number is down from 4% in October.

Jackson County remained at 3.9% while Macon dipped from 3% to 2.9%. Overton County still stands at 3.3% and Pickett is one of two counties where the unemployment number went up, the other being Van Buren. Pickett went from 3.8% in October to 4.15% last month, while Van Buren went from 4.2% to 4.4%.

Putnam County still stands at 3.4% unemployment. Smith County landed at 2.8% while White County remained at 3.7%.

The state of Tn has a 3.3% unemployment rate, and the national rate still stands at 3.4%.
