COOKEVILLE – UCHRA is inviting anyone 55 years or older, who meets the eligibility guidelines, to be a part of its Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP).
This program provides on-the-job training for older individuals seeking gainful employment in the Upper Cumberland region.
This training is 20 hours per week at the current minimum wage with government and non-profit agencies. There, participants are provided assessment and testing services to determine present skill levels and for the types of preferred occupations.
Trainers also conduct meetings to teach participants the best methods for finding, applying, interviewing, getting, and keeping the right job. They can also provide referrals to the American Job Center for basic computer training as well as other employment and training programs.
