TTU’s Tennessee Small Business Development Center to host multi-county National Small Business Week events
COOKEVILLE – Tagging along on a national celebration of small businesses, the Small Business Development Center at Tennessee Tech will host events in Putnam, White, Overton, Fentress and Smith counties May 2-May 6.
The events – free and open to the public – are being co-organized with area chambers of commerce and local lenders.
Each event will offer one-to-one assistance for getting businesses listed on Google Search and Maps, free 30-minute advising sessions for local business owners, and a seminar on “Engaging Customers on Facebook.” TSBDC at Tech representatives will be available starting at 9 a.m. and will stay until 3 p.m. in each county on their respective event day.

Also in honor of Small Business Week, the Macon County Public Library and Vision 2020 Inc. have teamed up to offer local residents a series of “Lunchtime Workshops.”
The workshops are free of charge and cover topics that are relevant to today’s entrepreneurs and small business owners: Loan guarantees, business data, agriculture, where are the resources, what not to do, and social media marketing.
There are two locations hosting the workshops:
