New TCAT Administration and CDL training center is underway

Recently the Tennessee College of Applied Technology marked a “significant milestone” as it broke ground on a Truck Driving and Diesel Technology Building located at 451 Interchange Drive in Crossville.

“Yesterday marked a significant milestone for the future of technical education as we proudly broke ground on new TCAT facilities,” according to an announcement by the school, “which will provide state-of-the-art training for the next generation of skilled professionals.”

TCAT met at 10 a.m. in Livingston before shovels hit dirt in Crossville at noon and the party traveled to Pikeville at 2 p.m.

“These developments represent our commitment to expanding opportunities and enhancing the educational landscape in our communities,” according to the statement.

Cumberland County Mayor Foster Allen Foster took to Facebook to express his excitement over the project.

“Another groundbreaking! All cylinders are firing with the State of TN, Crossville and Cumberland County governments working together. The new TCAT Administration and CDL training center is underway! Thanks to former Crossville Mayor James Mayberry for getting it started and current Crossville Mayor RJ Crawford for getting it across the finish line with funding provided by the State of TN and Speaker Sexton,” said Foster.

The school wanted to thank all who attended including:

  • Chancellor
  • TCAT President
  • Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives
  • Mayors
  • City and County Council Members
  • School Directors
  • Construction Engineers and Teams
  • Senators

“Your unwavering support is critical in turning these visions into reality. Together, we are building the foundation for a brighter future,” said TCAT.
