5K is a member of the Run the Cumberland’s race series

Cookeville Regional Medical Center Charitable Foundation’s Summer Splash 5k is set for Saturday, June 22.

The race begins at 6 p.m. near the Dogwood Pavilion at 30 East Broad Street in Cookeville. The family friendly event raises funds for the Cancer Patient Assistance Fund.

“We encourage participants to run, or walk, in honor of a loved one affected by cancer,” says the CRMC Foundation

The SS5K is a member of the Run the Cumberland’s race series, and discounts are available if more than one person registers at the same time. Children 5 and under run for free. Be prepared, runners will get wet at drenching stations along the way, but that’s all a part of the summer fun.

Run or Walk this family friendly 5K race raising funds to help cancer patients in the Upper Cumberland. The Summer Splash 5k offers racers opportunities to cool off along the course at optional “drenching stations” and “misting stations.”

All participants will be timed and have the option to order a Summer Splash T-shirt.

“… Participants are encouraged to run in honor or memory of a loved one impacted by cancer. The race was established in memory of Sarah Alice Bagci, who battled Burkitt’s Lymphoma,” according to the foundation.
