UPPER CUMBERLAND – Many counties in the Upper Cumberland saw their February unemployment rates shrink compared to the previous month.
Cannon (3.0), Macon (3.2), Putnam (3.5), and Smith (3.5) counties were in line with or bested the state’s reported 3.6-percent unemployment rate.
Clay (5.2), Jackson (5.5), and DeKalb (4.6) counties meanwhile reported the highest unemployment rates in the UC; above the reported national rate of 4.4 percent.
