COOKEVILLE – Putnam County 5th District Commissioner Terry Randolph has resigned his seat effective today.

In an email sent to Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter, Commission Chairman Mike Atwood and the commission, Randolph announced that he had sold his house in the 5th District and had purchased another house in a different district.

“I have enjoyed working with you all. As a team we have accomplished much. Keep up the good work,” Randolph said in the email message.

Filling the vacant seat will be on the agenda for the Dec. 20 Putnam County Commission Meeting. Tennessee law allows the commission 120 days to fill the position.

Anyone living in the 5th District that is interested in serving out the remainder of the term, which expires Aug. 31, 2022, should contact Porter at randy.porter@putnamcountytn.gov or 931-526-2161.
