Month saw 36 permits issued

Cookeville – The construction market in Putnam County is staying hot during the summer months. June saw 36 permits for $5.9 million of construction with 18 being for new single-family residential homes. That is down compared to this time last year, however. In June of last year, a record month for the county that saw two large commercial projects, Putnam had 51 permits for $15.6 million with 28 of those being new single-family homes.

For the Fiscal Year (July-June) 376 permits have been issued for $76.4 million in construction, with 219 of those being new single-family homes.

“Not a record setting Fiscal Year like last year (the county saw 436 permits for $89.4 million),” said County Mayor Randy Porter, “but still very strong.”

2021-2022 fiscal year had 436 permits for $89.4 million.
