PCSO Swat Division wins 2025 plane pull
Annually, first responders compete in the Plane Pull, an event that raises money for charity. This year, the PCSO Swat Division finished first at the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport event.
All proceeds from this event went directly toward the Tennessee Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Teams of 10 competed to pull a plane 50 feet in the quickest time possible. There was also a singles division where individual pullers attempted to move 4,000-pound plane 25 feet.

“Sheriff Farris and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate the members of the PCSO SWAT Division on their first place victory at this year’s the plane pull event at Pulling With a Purpose this past Saturday hosted by the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport,” according to a release by Putnam County Sherriff Eddie Farris.
The Swat squad successfully pulled a 45,000-pound plane 50 feet in just 22 seconds.
“Two members of the SWAT team, SRO Deputy Matthew Franey and SRO Deputy Jackson Nolan, also showed incredible strength and determination by participating in the individual plane pull event,” according to the release.
