Place joins SmartBank from LBMC, the largest Accounting and Business Consulting Firm headquartered in Tennessee
Cookeville – SmartBank has announced the appointment of Brad Place as new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
“Place brings a wealth of experience in the technology industry, having spent over 25 years in rapidly growing and dynamic environments,” according to a release by SmartBank.
As CTO, Place will be responsible for leading SmartBank’s technology strategy, driving innovation and ensuring that the Bank remains at the forefront of technological advancements in the financial industry.

Place joins SmartBank from LBMC, the largest Accounting and Business Consulting Firm headquartered in Tennessee, where he served as the Chief Information Officer. He led the technology support, operations, and security teams and provided strategic input on innovation and digital transformation initiatives for all the businesses operating under the LBMC brand. Prior to LBMC, Place was the Information Technology Manager for Pinnacle Financial Partners where he managed network infrastructure, help desk and security supporting 750 team members across 34 offices.

Place holds a Master of Business Administration from Jack C. Massey Graduate School of Business, Belmont University in Nashville, TN and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN.
