The Mayberry family has been serving the Upper Cumberland from their Crossville location for the last 78 years

Mayberry’s Complete Home Furnishings (MCHF) in Cookeville will celebrate its grand opening Sept. 19  at 1020 South Willow in Cookeville.

The celebration kicks off at 10 a.m., and the Cookeville–Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be on hand for the event.

“Join us in celebrating the grand opening of Mayberry’s Complete Home Furnishings Cookeville location,” said the Chamber. “The Mayberry family has been serving the Upper Cumberland from their Crossville location for the last 78 years and is excited to serve the Cookeville community with their new location.”

James Mayberry (Mayberry), owner of MCHF in Crossville told the UCBJ the Cookeville location just makes sense for the growth of his family’s company.

“… I have always wanted to have a store in Cookeville,” said Mayberry.

In 2014, Mayberry took ownership, in the long lineage family ownership, and became sole owner and operator following 35 years of running the day-to-day of the expanded operation. All delivery and distribution for Mayberry’s Cookeville will be handled out of Crossville, according to Mayberry.

“Mayberry’s features a diverse range of stylish furniture, home décor and mattresses,” according to the Chamber. “Known for its excellent customer service and quality products, Mayberry’s helps you find the perfect pieces to enhance your home at the best price. Help us celebrate them!”

Mayberry, who has a five-year lease on the building, says the company is taking a shot in the dark by tackling the new location.

“We’ve been in Crossville so long, it’s a staple, and there is not a lot of competition up here, but no one knows who we are down there. We will have to build on that and build our reputation down there. We take care of people.”
