Tennessee Tech University’s College of Business will host AI pioneer Zack Kass at its annual Fall Celebration Dinner Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Leslie Town Centre in Cookeville. An opening reception is set for 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the program at 6:30 p.m.
The former head of go-to-market at OpenAI, Kass is a sought-after AI futurist, keynote speaker and consultant who has spent the last 14 years navigating and leading the evolving AI landscape. Kass has advised leaders ranging from Coca-Cola and Boeing to the White House on AI strategy.
“The Fall Celebration Dinner is a premier tradition in the Tennessee Tech College of Business, and we are excited to bring an expert of Mr. Kass’s caliber to Cookeville,” said Tom Payne, Ph.D., dean of Tech’s College of Business. “AI is rapidly reshaping the way we work and learn. As a leader in the application of technology, the College of Business is at the forefront of ensuring that our graduates effectively leverage AI to benefit their organizations and communities. Our students and faculty look forward to Zack’s insight into the future of AI, and we invite you to join us for an enjoyable and informative evening.”
Kass’s appearance at the Fall Celebration Dinner is part of the 2024 Albrecht Distinguished Lecture Series that brings the top names in business to Cookeville, thanks to a generous endowment from the late Joe Albrecht, a longtime Tech College of Business trustee, newspaper publisher and community leader. The ticketed annual event brings together College of Business graduates, students, faculty, staff and the community to celebrate the college’s recent achievements and recognize outstanding alumni.
Past speakers include Governor Bill Lee, “Shark Tank” star Barbara Corcoran, Pulitzer Prize-winning historians and authors Doris Kearns Goodwin and Jon Meacham, Wall Street Journal columnist and former White House speechwriter Peggy Noonan, ESPN sportscaster Dick Vitale and others.
The 2024 Fall Celebration Dinner comes as Tech’s College of Business continues to earn state and national recognition. Today, 92% of College of Business students are employed in their major or enrolled in graduate school upon completing their degree, while more than 90% of students in the college participate in resume-building experiential learning activities as part of their studies.
