In March there were 225 deeds registered in Putnam County
The Upper Cumberland Business Journal brings you the top 3 residential transactions in March.
The market is in a downward spiral nationally, according to the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Well, spiral might be an overstatement, but sales are trending downward with existing-home sales in the South fading 5.9% from February to an annual rate of 1.9 million in March and down 5% year-over-year. The median price for a home in the South was $359,100, up 3.4% from last year.
Among the four major U.S. regions, sales also slid in the Midwest and West.
In the Upper Cumberland, there were 879 total listings over the first three months of the year. Median sales price on those homes was $292,000. The properties stayed on the market an average of 105 days, according to the Upper Cumberland Association of Realtors.
If you total that up, residential homes sold for a total of $168,263,440 from January to March.
Single Family residential homes were paid for in 11 different ways over the 3-month stretch, including: Cash, 147 times; through the VA, 53 times; sell financing, two times; conventional, 206 times; through FHA, 75 times; assumed, once; FMHA, once; through rural development, five times; USDA, 10 times; THDA, three times and “other,” six times.
Four homes sold for over a $1M in that stretch.
In March 225 property deeds were registered with Putnam County, also slightly down from 232 registered in February. Luxury properties sold in Putnam County were not an exception to the national trend, but there were many beautiful homes sold last month.
