Jarden employees donate $24K to Warren County charities

Jarden CSMCMINNVILLE – Jarden Consumer Solutions (JCS) recently announced that its employee-supported JCS community fund donated $24,000 to four local charities in the second quarter of 2015. The fund is committed to providing services and opportunities to at-risk youth, women and families in communities where JCS employees live and work, and has donated more than $5 million across the country since its creation in 2004.

“Our employees make possible the JCS community fund’s ability to invest in the improvement of the communities in which we live and work,” Rocki Rockingham, JCS senior vice president, global human resources, said. “Through continuous support and contributions, we are able to make a positive difference in the lives of those less fortunate by providing healthy meals, educational and job placement assistance and other important resources that help to improve quality of life.”

The JCS community dund provided funding for the following organizations:

  • Families in Crisis Inc. in McMinnville received $7,000 to support the agency’s new beginnings empowerment program. Funds specifically supported medical financial assistance, transportation for clients, housing and utility assistance, childcare assistance and client supplies.
  • Morrison Ruritan Club received $7,000 to provide assistance and food to low-income families and individuals, as well as weekend food bags benefiting at-risk hungry children at Morrison’s Elementary school.
  • Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee received $5,000 to support mobile food pantries in Warren County, specifically purchasing non-perishable food items.  Additionally, funds will also be used to support the Warren County school fund pantry program by purchasing non-perishable food items to low-income families throughout the school year.
  • Warren County Emergency Rescue Squad received $5,000 to fund the agency’s annual holiday toy drive event. Funds will specifically be used to purchase age-appropriate gifts for underprivileged youth, ages 9-12.

 

Jarden Consumer Solutions, located at 150 Cadillac Lane in McMinnville, is a consumer products company and, locally, a produce of Oster professional human and pet products. The company employs roughly 390 in Warren County.
