Home Depot store has already hired 115 employees
(UCBJ) – Construction on the new Cookeville Home Depot is nearing completion, with the store set to open Oct. 8 at The Willows, according to former Cookeville Mayor and Shelton Solutions owner Ricky Shelton. Shelton was a major advocate for bringing both Home Depot and Target to Cookeville during his time in office.
He and Cookeville Vice Mayor Luke Eldridge recently toured the soon-to-open store, where Store Manager Mike Walsh provided an update on the project.

Home Depot aims to move inventory and expert support closer to the nation’s fastest-growing regions.
“Great visit today at our new Home Depot on Willow Ave.! Store Manager Mike Walsh gave Vice Mayor Luke Eldridge and me a tour and shared that 115 people have been hired and are currently in training,” Shelton said.
The store will be the first new Home Depot built in Tennessee in 18 years and will be one of the company’s largest locations, according to Shelton.
“The store will begin being stocked with merchandise September 3 with an opening date of October 8!” Shelton said.
The Willows, located at 1100 South Willow Avenue, will also feature Target, In-N-Out and McDonald’s, with additional tenants expected to be announced.
