Tour Focuses on Investment and Job Access
(UCBJ) – United States Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), a member of the Senate Appropriations and Banking Committees and former Tennessee Commissioner of Economic and Community Development, will launch hisEconomic Development Tour for thesixth-year next week.
“Innovation is keeping Tennessee at the cutting edge of economic development,” said Sen. Hagerty. “From historic breakthroughs at Oak Ridge to world-class manufacturing and one of the largest automotive and healthcare partnerships in the world, our state continues to lead. Tennessee remains one of the most coveted places to live, work and thrive.”
In August, Sen. Hagerty will travel across all three grand divisions of Tennessee, meeting with businesses and workers about innovation, intelligence and inspiration. He is set to hear from Tennesseans about the opportunities and challenges facing the economy.
According to a release, the goal is to continue:
- Creating more opportunities
- Attracting new investment
- Ensuring Tennesseans have access to great jobs
Hagerty says the tradition reflects a “long-standing commitment to engage directly with Tennessee communities and ensure federal policy supports continued economic investments across the Volunteer State.”
