HCA Healthcare of Nashville has purchased the land at 9 South Cedar Avenue and 39 Depot Street in Cookeville. The property sits next to the Cookeville Depot.

Anna Lee Cockrill, AVP of Strategic Communications and Public Relations with HCA Healthcare told the Upper Cumberland Business Journal things are uncertain with the property.

“From time to time,” said Cockrill, “we purchase land for potential growth in the future. We don’t have any plans for the property at this time.”

HCA has 14 locations across the state of TN where they provide medical services. Most notably, they provide Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Meditech.

Nine of those locations are in the Tri-Star family of hospitals located from Springfield to Smyrna. They also own the Parkridge family of medical centers in Chattanooga and Pinewood Springs in Columbia. According to their website, “HCA Healthcare is a learning health system that uses its more than 35 million annual patient encounters to advance science, improve patient care and save lives.”

LinkedIn recently named HCA healthcare as number 37 on their list of “the 50 best workplaces to grow your career.” HCA has a global employee headcount of 204,000 with its top U.S. locations located in Atlanta, Nashville and Tampa.

HCA also provides services at 182 hospitals and approximately 2,300 sites of care, including surgery centers, freestanding emergency rooms, urgent care centers, home health and hospice agencies and physician clinics, located in 20 states and the United Kingdom, according to hcahealthcare.com.
