Pickett faces worst unemployment in the area

Upper Cumberland – Unemployment worsened in all 14 Upper Cumberland counties in January.

Warren County landed at 3.7% last month, compared to 3% in December. Elsewhere in the Upper Cumberland, Cannon County sits at 3%, up from 2.7% last month, while Clay sits at 4.7% in January. Cumberland County sits at 5.2% last month and DeKalb County landed at 4.4%, up from 3.8% in December.

Fentress lifted to 3.9% from 3.3% a month ago while Van Buren landed at 4.5%. Jackson County stands at 4.4%, and Macon County’s number lifted 2.6% to 2.8%.

Overton landed at 4% while Putnam sits at a 3.8%, up from 3.2% in December. Smith landed at 3.5%.

White County sits at 3.6% while Pickett increased from 4.3% in December to 5% last month and Clay County landed at 4.9%.
