45% of students graduate debt-free

Tennessee Tech University Marketing and Communications hosted the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) for Business Before Hours.

“Great conversation and even better coffee this morning at our Business Before Hours…,” according to a release by the Chamber.

Key updates and facts from the meeting:

  • College Town Kickoff will return August 22
  • Tons of campus growth, including the football stadium set to be completed by the first home game (Aug. 29), a new tower, a new residence hall and multiple academic buildings
  • Tech has the lowest average student debt of any public university in Tennessee
  • 45% of students graduate debt-free (U.S. News & World Report)
  • Tech grads have the highest median starting salary among Tennessee public university graduates
  • Record number of graduates for Spring 2026

“We also took time to celebrate several Membership Milestones, recognizing members who have been part of the Chamber for 30 or more years in five-year increments,” according to the Chamber. “All in all, it was a great morning! Thanks again to Tech for sponsoring and to everyone who joined us.”
