Cookeville – According to sources, the 240,000 square foot FedEx Ground distribution facility located at 4676 Tennessee Avenue in Cookeville is set to open in the “next couple of months.” Since T.W. Frierson broke ground back in April, construction crews have been hard at work to meet the scheduled November opening.

No official opening date has been announced, but the project looks to be nearing completion as crews make final touches to the parking lot. Westmoreland Company developed the Castles Design Group design located on approximately 50 acres of land adjacent to the Academy Sports and Outdoor distribution center.

“We are thrilled to welcome the FedEx Ground distribution facility to the Highlands Business Park,” Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce President Amy New told the Upper Cumberland Business Journal in April. “Their investment in our area shows their dedication and confidence in our community to provide the ideal workforce that will be a main contributor to their success.”

When complete, the distribution center will deliver both e-commerce orders and supplier shipments and looks to provide approximately 250 jobs.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
