UPPER CUMBERLAND – The Home Builders Association of the Upper Cumberland (HBAUC) and Carwile Mechanical Contractors recently partnered with other construction trade associations and businesses in Tennessee to participate in a statewide “Fall Protection Safety Stand-Down.”
The safety event was part of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) ongoing “Fall Prevention Campaign.” The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of preventing fall hazards and to the message out that “safety pays and falls cost.” Preventing falls in the construction industry benefits everyone, from the worker, to the employer, to the community at large. The safety stand-down serves as an important opportunity for everyone to take the time to learn how to recognize and prevent fall hazards.
“Carwile Mechanical Contractors has a strong commitment to safety,” Robert Patterson, safety director at Carwile, said. “We have an aggressive safety and training program. We want to insure that we provide a safe environment for our employees to work. We also provide our employees the necessary training and skills to work in the challenging construction industry.”
HBAUC includes area contractors and others in the construction industry. They support educational programs and encourage members to stay informed about local and industry issues.
