CBI hosting ‘Make Camp’

Early registration runs until June 19

CROSSVILLE – The Cumberland Business Incubator of Roane State Community College is currently accepting applications for the kids “Make Camp,” a weeklong day camp for fun, learning and creativity. Make Camp will be the week of July 21-25 for kids age 7-teens.

Early registration is open until June 19 for $100 per participant. Regular registration from June 20-July 11 is $120.

There will be “make” options each day for campers including crafts, Minecraft, computer coding, recording a video documentary of camp, building a Little Free Library and projects for community donation.

The Make Camp director is Paige Almonrode of Spark Crossville. Almonrode has been working with the Art Circle Public Library teens to create make projects for a number of months.

The idea behind the make concept is when kids are allowed to make something in a safe, supervised environment, their creativity leads to great inventions. Inventions lead to new products that lead to new businesses, which are all things that the Cumberland Business Incubator supports.
